Internet Rights Seminar
Illawarra Mercury
Tuesday May 22, 2001
Illawarra's Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have been invited to a free seminar tomorrow to further understand content regulations.
The seminar is part of the NetAlert industry outreach program convened by Internet Industry Association executive director Peter Coroneos who said ISPs would be brought up to date on the marketing advantages of complying with co-regulatory codes governing their industry.
Mr Coroneos said Australia's Internet content laws were not well understood when they were first introduced.
Tomorrow's seminar, organised by the Internet Advisory Group NetAlert and the Communications Law Centre will be held at the Quality Hotel City Pacific from 5.30pm.
The Communications Law Centre has also offered to provide free legal guidance to ISPs on other matters affecting the industry and there's a free training manual and CD Rom on the rights and requirements of ISPs and Internet Content Hosts.
Phone (03) 92481255 or visit seminar@comslaw.org.au to register.
